David Hiatt graduated from the University of Florida in 1986 and moved to the Tampa Bay area to work for some of the more prominent architecture firms in the area. While maintaining a full-time work load he completed his Master of Architecture Degree at the University of South Florida in 1992. In 1999 he founded the architecture firm of Faber, Widdows, Hiatt Architects (FWH), and collectively, FWH’s ownership contributed experience ranging from large-format institutional and government projects, to significant national rollout campaigns for a number of clients with experience concentrated in private sector Retail, Office, Institutional, Hospitality, & Restaurant work.
In 2007 David sold his partnership interest in FWH and (with his entire client base in tow) began his current practice in Tampa. Today, Hiatt Architecture maintains the same principles and standards upon which the success of his previous firm was built, and the cumulative experiences and business relationships that have been developed and nurtured over the years have resulted in a mature blend of skills and talent, ranging from award-winning design to an equally important attention to technical detail and drawing clarity.
Hiatt Architecture is a service-based architecture firm with a no-nonsense approach to conducting business. Our core goal is to provide the highest level of client service possible through clear communication, efficient practices, and consistent appreciation for our client’s needs and sensitivity to time. As Owner / Principal, David Hiatt is actively involved in all facets of the work with an emphasis on sensible and effective work strategies, and it remains our hope that our overall model of flexibility and diversity will continue to enable us to attract, develop, and preserve meaningful, long-lasting business relationships. We understand that talent is empty if the customer is not satisfied with service, and it is in this spirit that we strive to maintain the right balance every day.
